Undying Faith

In Luke 8:43 - 46 (NIV), it is written:

And a woman was there who had been subject to bleeding for twelve years, but no one could heal her. She came up behind him and touched the edge of his cloak, and immediately her bleeding stopped. ‘Who touched me?’ Jesus asked. When they all denied it, Peter said, ‘Master, the people are crowding and pressing against you.’ But Jesus said, ‘Someone touched me; I know that power has gone out from me.’ Then the woman, seeing that she could not go unnoticed, came trembling and fell at his feet. In the presence of all the people, she told why she had touched him and how she had been instantly healed. Then he said to her, ‘Daughter, your faith has healed you. Go in peace.’

I wanted to share this scripture with you because I would like to remind you of the woman with the issue of blood. If you know and read the bible, you know of this scripture and many others that are great examples of faith for us today.

I wanted to point out in this scripture the undying faith of this woman. For twelve years she had been bleeding nonstop. She went to seek help from those who she thought could help her, but none of them could. She continued to live her life – probably inconvenienced by her condition, but she never gave up on the belief that she could be healed. One day, she found herself in the midst of a crowd that surrounded the one man who she knew could heal her. The crowd made it difficult for her to get close to Him, but she felt this was her one opportunity, an opportunity that she may never have again. This was her sink or swim moment and she could not pass it by. So she forced her way through the crowd and pushed her way towards her deliverance. She was determined to put her faith to use by any means necessary, and as a result of her undying faith, by touching just the hem of His garment, she was healed instantly.

This woman paints a clear picture for us of the importance of never giving up. She believed that she could be healed and that the power of her faith would bring it to pass. She didn't touch His arm or His leg, but she believed that by touching just the hem of His garment, she would be made whole.

After twelve years of not having a dream realized or being healed and delivered, many would have given up, but this woman and her story is proof that if you hold on to your faith and your belief in that faith, you will see what you long for and desire appear before you. Everything happens at an appointed time and the opportunity for this woman came after twelve years of suffering. She had to wait, but while she waited, she held on to her faith that she could be healed. Was there ever a day when she felt that she could not go on? Probably so, but she kept going, she kept believing, she kept her faith in front her because she knew that what she longed for in the past twelve years of her life would manifest.

Whatever you have been praying for, know that God hears you. He hears every prayer the moment that we say them. What we cry out to Him for, does not go unnoticed. Do not weigh your prayers against the time it takes for them to manifest because within the spiritual realm there is no existence of time, and because of this fact, know that your blessing, your healing, and your deliverance is on its way. Put patience to the test and wait on the Lord to provide for you the blessing you have been waiting for with undying faith. Never give up because in the end, you would have claimed the victory.

Do not count the days, months, and years that it takes for your prayers to be answered. Do not put a time limit on your blessings. Just keep praying, keep fasting, keep believing, keep trusting, and push through knowing that God will release unto you what you have been praying for according to His will, and it will be far greater than what you could ever imagine.
